As with every year our New Year Celebration or call it PDIT G2G , this year also its default plan , but only difference is this time we pre-poned it for few days, just to avoid the new year rush and to be lite on our pocket [new year time all expenses will go up].
This time we selected the location as Gokarna and surrounding, after last year not so exciting trip to Varkala [kerala] where more travel and very less enjoyment hampered our celebration, this time we made sure its the other way. so we booked Bus tickets in advance and also the stay arrangements made in advance to avoid last min rush. which proved very good move. total 11 ppl [Nagoo,Ashok,Mohan,Prakash,Tirumala,Vadi,Harish,Pavan,Sharan,Shivu and his friend] started the journey for 3 days trip.
We reached around morning in Gokarna Bus stand and checked in to our hotel rooms which is located nearby. after getting freshup we decided to head towards Yana , so we hired bikes and started towards Yana rock formation. the roads were empty and worst of its kind. with couple of scooters in our group it was really hard to drive them in that hilly rocky roads. we took enough time to explore the cave/rock formation and finally we decided to head back in other direction instead same way which we arrived. this made things harder as we need to take our bikes through hilly trek route were there is no road and in some places one needs to carry the bike to descend. after the adventurous descend, the main roads were good to ride. by the time we reached Gokarna city back its already 8pm and we decided to head towards OM beach.
we reached OM beach and spent most of the night there only before heading back to our hotel.
The next day we decided to visit Gokarna Temple and later planned to head towards Murudeshwar, and after hiring a taxi all of us reached Murudeshwar by afternoon and decided to spend some time at the beach and water sports, as it was not new year the crowd was moderate and after negotiating good price for water related activities, we spent almost 4 hours in those water sports which included speed boat,jet ske ride , para gliding and banana rides. we got freshen up with nearby sweet water and visited the main temple before leaving back to Gokarna.
Final day plans were clear , it was all gokarna and wanted to visit all the beaches, so we played some time on the beach and after having our lunch , we hired a boat to other beaches and spent good amount of time there, and also the boat took us to another town near by from where we could take city bus to reach Kumta where our buses were booked for that night to travel back to Bangalore. we were just in time to watch the sunset from the sea and after reaching Kumta we found a good hotel for the dinner before boarding the buses back to Bangalore.
The 3 days spent was great , and the fact also that pre-poning the trip before newyear served us good in terms of money saving , time spent and also privacy. so hopefully the next new year celebration will happen even with more of our Frnds.
