Trip to chikkamagaluru..[mullayanagiri and kemmanagundi]

Friends let me tell u about this wonderful trip we had to chikkamagaluru district , it is one of the most beautiful and ever green places in karnataka, and around this place u can see lot of places with rich in wildlife and nature and all this because of ever green rainforests which is surrounded this entire place and here we call this range of forest as westren ghats.

we [me,ramesh, sharan and vishwa] decided to go for a long trip in ramesh car and finally we planned for this place , after a breef discussion and deciding the place on saturday morning we left bangalore and driving in the city took us some time to get out of bangalore , by the time we came out of bangalore we already wasted a good amount of 2 hours driving in the city traffic.
once we hit the highway there was relaxed feeling and all 4 of us started to enjoy the music and highway drive.

after spending good amount of time in driving we reached hassan and by that time sharan took over driving from ramesh and with good funky music blasting in the car , we missed a correct road and went some other place in the highway , later after taking a U turn we head back to mangaluru in a different country road [i forgot the name] and it was very calm and beautiful as there we ride along the coffee estate and rich forest.

finally we reached the chikkamagaluru in the 4 pm evening, and when we entered the city it was like disaster , the main road reminds like a war torn city with full of rubbles and collapsed buildings and dust every where , when we enquired the locals , we come to know that there was removal of illegal construction and road widening drive is going from chikkamagaluru municipal corporation.

we stopped at a small hotel for have some breakfast after searching entire center city for good hotels , after finishing that we did some small shopping in the city and head towards mullayanagiri.

by the time we reached the top it was already getting dark and we wanted to go in the car till top and our Fiet Linea has good time around those curves and ghats , in only one point we had to push it to climb a bigger steep of mountain for few feets , apart from that it took all the loads effortlessly.

when we reached the top , it was a wonderful feeling and still some 250 meters to reach the highest peak temple where there is steps for climbing we decided to go there in the morning rather than night , and finally we selected a good spot for the camping and decided to pitch our tent.
now we faced a small problem of bringing the car to camping site and as it was on top of small hill , it took us almost 30 min and 4 ppl to do variety of tricks to bring the car to camping site.

while sharan and ramesh went to the temple at the top to bring some water , while me and vishwa started pitching the tent and with lot of effort and calculations we pitched the tent , as there was lot of wind which is threatening our tent.

later we decided to have camp fire , and we collected some dry woods from around and started a small camp fire which served us well for preparing our MTR ready to eat meals and to have fun, by the time we went to bed it was already 1 am in the night and there was cool breeze which freezes our sprite and drinks , it was awesome experience with only 4 of us on top of the mountain in the night with camp fire and lot of jokes.

once again we took the lengthy path to reach kemmanagundi, and afternoon around 12 we reached the intersection from where we can divert to kemmanagundi or to hebbe falls ..

so we decided to go for hebbe falls and after arguing a lot we hired a jeep for 750/- to reach hebbe falls which is around 10km from the intersection which i mentioned above.

after reaching the end point we needed to trek for another 3 km on foot to reach the falls, during this course we saw good number of ppl are going to falls with elderly and younger people .. although we enjoyed the small walk with lot of pics and fun. as soon as we reached the falls it was time to take a bath and that wt we did for almost 1 hours .. the falls will have around more than 200 feet high and its beautiful and even in all the seasons it will be full of water ,... surrounded by forest and coffee estates .. its really a heaven for some good times.

after heading back from hebbe falls , we decided to turn back and start for bangalore .. now we had 2 choices .. the first .. go back in the same road which we came or .. take a new road which is ahead of us ..but locals warned about its worst condition ..

still we wanted to take some risk ... so we head on .. as said the road was worst than worse for initial few kilometers and later it looks some wt acceptable .. but as we head further we had a big surprise .. we are now moving in a single lane road enough for only one big car and the entire road is carved on the ever green mountains along the path ... one side u can see a hills and otherside a deep bottoms of the hills .. its shallow and the scenery is really breath tacking ... i suggest anyone going there should go through that route ..
we had a great time there and every moment we enjoyed with lot of stops and pics ...

finally when we hit the highway towards B'lore ... it started raining heavily and we are happy that last night it didn;t spoil our enjoyment.

when we reached the B'lore outskirts it was huge traffic jam ... and took us an extra hour to reach our homes ...

Bottom Line:

wonderful place :)
